Better late than never. And for former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, better late to pick your dignity off the ground than to leave it lying there forever.
Pelosi, an ostensible crusader for women, has finally come to the conclusion that every sane person deduced a week ago: Embattled Michigan representative John Conyers should resign after multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.
The news comes from Dave Weigel of The Washington Post, a well-known partisan journalist:
BREAKING from Pelosi: "Congressman Conyers should resign."

Pelosi couldn’t have done this at a worse time. We learned this morning that John Conyers was rushed to the hospital, citing stress related to the multiple allegations against him.
Likewise, one of Conyers’s victims went public, going on the “Today” show to share her story about what Conyers did to her.
If you remember, it was only on Sunday that Pelosi refused to say Conyers should resign. In fact, she called him an “icon” who deserved better treatment, and even doubted the claims made by Conyers’s victims:

I guess Pelosi can’t hide from the truth any longer. Her progressive caucus has been protecting a sexual pervert and deviant. It’s an open secret on Capitol Hill that Conyers had a thing for lusting after women. Yet he was protected for all of these years, even by Democrats.
The dominoes are falling, one-by-one. Here’s my question: There’s no dispute that Conyers should resign – but what about those who covered for him? Should they get away scot-free? After all, they enabled a predator, allowing him to lurk the halls of power, accosting innocent women when they were alone and vulnerable.
It sounds like to me that more people should go down than Conyers for his misdeeds.
Share this breaking news with others now! Especially if you think Nancy Pelosi is a hypocrite who deserves to be shamed out of office.
